The discovery of Ulaangom and Lake Uvs is centred around Lake Uvs, Ulaangom and Mount Turgen. The stay thus alternates between urban life, shores and lakes, wetlands and desert areas, giving a concrete picture of the destination beyond its only best known site.

The basin of Ubs Nuur combines salty lake, steppe, dunes, mountains and wetlands in a very changing Central Asian landscape. Migratory birds frequent the shallow shores, while dry immensities give a rare sense of distance; movements require a real margin in the face of distances and weather.

The large salt lake occupies the bottom of a closed basin shared with Russia. Its remote shores welcome birds and wetlands, accessible only by selected tracks. Light, wind and season strongly transform the landscape.
