Altea combines white old town, sloping alleys and direct sea connection. The contrasts between wall colours, blue sky and late afternoon shadows produce a very clear atmosphere. The traveller gains by taking the time to alternate center places and less frequented paths.

Peñón de Ifach dominates the coast by a rock mass that structures all approaches, from the footpath to the high observation points.
