Ayvalık and Cunda
Ayvalık keeps traces of its former olive economy in a fabric of houses, churches and industrial buildings. Cunda, connected to the continent, extends this story into an Aegean archipelago facing Lesbos. The old districts and the panorama of Şeytan Sofrası allow you to read together the urban heritage and geography of the islands.
To understand what Ayvalık and Cunda are, you must look to the side of Cunda Island — Alibey, Taksiyarhis Church d-Ayvalık — monumental museum and ancient districts of Ayvalık. These places give us a view of a territory marked by urban life, island landscapes, coastline and heritage and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

Cunda is the largest island in the Ayvalık archipelago and also bears the name d'Alibey. Connected to the continent, it is a distinct sector of the destination, between seafront, built heritage and island landscape.

This ancient church in the centre of Ayvalık has been restored to become a monumental museum. Its basilical architecture and religious decoration distinguish it from the Taksiyarhis church in Cunda, which houses the Rahmi M. Koç.

Ayvalık is an Aegean port marked by its old olive oil production. The factory chimneys and the urban fabric keep this economic memory, in addition to the churches and historic districts of the city.

To the south of Ayvalık, this height offers views of the bays and surrounding islands. His name and the brand associated with the devil are a local story; the main interest of the visit is landscaped.
