Beihai
Old open harbour, long beach and mangroves give Beihai a unique maritime atmosphere on the Gulf of Tonkin.
To understand what Beihai is, you have to look at Old Street of Beihai, Silver Beach and Mangrove of Jinhaiwan. These places give us a view of a territory marked by urban life, the coastline, heritage and wetlands and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

Old Beihai Street
Arcades and facades from the early 20th century recall the old harbour trade. Collections and remains take time to go beyond a mere photographic stop; a visit to the port helps to understand their regional historical context.

Silver beach
A very long clear sandy beach borders the southern districts of Beihai. Season, wind and water level greatly alter the experience; fragile banks and any local restrictions must also be respected.

Jinhaiwan Mangrove
Gateways and channels pass through a protected mangrove area east of the city. An early-in-the-day tour allows you to better observe local usages and the details of the place, while avoiding some of the groups and traffic.
