Bixby Creek Bridge Hanging Highway 1 over a canyon that falls to the Pacific, with its arch of concrete laid between cliffs and coastal bushes. The bridge is better seen from the north, when the road, bow and ocean enter the same frame.

McWay Falls
McWay Falls descends from a cliff directly to a turquoise creek, often observed from the panoramic path of Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park. The beach below remains inaccessible, keeping instead a particular distance: one looks at the waterfall, the sand and the ocean as a closed scene.
