Culture and heritage
Historical centre of Dêgê
Houses, workshops and religious buildings surround the Buddhist printing plant in a narrow valley close to Jinsha. An early-day visit allows you to better observe local usages and the details of the place, while avoiding some of the groups and traffic.
Monastery
Dzongsar Monastery
The Sakya monastery and its institute are known for the study of Tibetan philosophy, art and medicine. The place remains culturally sensitive and discovers itself with discretion, without hindering local practices; time, outfit and photographic rules are to be checked on site.
河流
Jinsha River in Dêgê
The river flows into a deep gorge that marks the administrative boundary between Sichuan and Tibet. The season, wind and water level greatly alter the experience; we must also respect the fragile banks and any local restrictions.
