Gila Cliff Dwellings, Catwalk Recreation Area and Silver City Historic District are the most telling landmarks of Gila and Silver City. Together, they form a destination where mountain reliefs, forests, heritage and natural spaces meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than just one uniform decor.

Gila Cliff Dwellings
The Gila Cliff Dwellings occupy natural caves suspended above a wooded canyon in a remote part of southwestern New Mexico. The visit leads to the stone pieces built by the Mogollons, where the walls, openings and freshness of the rock make the old habitat particularly tangible.

Catwalk Recreation Area
The Catwalk Recreation Area follows Whitewater Canyon on metal bridges attached to the walls, over clear basins and water-polished rocks. The route remembers an old mining line, but the current experience is mainly due to the contrast between narrow canyons, pines, cliffs and lively current.

Silver City Historic District
The Silver City Historic District is a brick facade, former hotels, galleries and shops around a mine-born city centre. The streets keep a western town ladder, with Victorian details, painted signs and an artistic scene that make the stop more alive than a simple historical setting.
Nature and landscape
City of Rocks State Park
At City of Rocks State Park, erect volcanic blocks form a natural maze in the middle of an open plain. The rocks are circulated between stone corridors, sheltered camping pitches and open views to the distant mountains; at sunset, the rocks take on very marked warm tones.
