Hezuo and Gannan
Prefecture capital, Tibetan temples and high meadows serve as the base for the Gannan plateau.
Milarepa Pavilion, Tsoe Monastery and Gannan Prairies give the most telling landmarks of Hezuo and Gannan. Together, they form a destination where urban life, heritage and the countryside meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than a single uniform decor.

Place indismissible
Pavillon Milarepa
The high Buddhist building of Hezuo contains chapels and statues spread over several floors. An early visit allows you to better observe the local usages and the details of the place, while avoiding part of the groups and the traffic.

Tsoe Monastery
The active monastery occupies a hill close to the centre of Hezuo. The place remains culturally sensitive and discovers itself with discretion, without hindering local practices; religious schedules, dress and photographic rules are to be checked on the spot.
Nature and landscape
Grasslands of Gannan
Altitude pastures connect villages, monasteries and pastoral camps. Distances, weather and access conditions must be checked before departure; water, warm clothing and time limits are still useful, even in summer.
