Konya preserves a major set of Seljuk monuments, from the hill of Alâeddin to the medrasas that became museums. Rumi mausoleum anchors the city in the history of Mevlevia. Sille extends this discovery by its Anatolian Greek heritage, while Çitalhöyük, in the plain of Çumra, opens a much older perspective on the Neolithic habitat.
Mevlâna Museum, Alâeddin Mosque and Medessa İnce Minare give the most eloquent landmarks of Konya. Together, they form a destination where urban life, heritage and the countryside meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than a single uniform decor.

For a stay of 2 to 4 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: increased vigilance and çatalhöyük is an excursion to the district of Çumra, distinct from the center of Konya. A car is usually the easiest way to connect the different sectors. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be verified step by step.

Mevlâna Museum
The museum occupies the former convent of the order Mevlevi and houses the Mausoleum of Rumi. This place combines Sufi memory and the history of the dervishes, in a religious ensemble that has become one of the main cultural landmarks of Konya.

Mosquée Alâeddin
On the central hill of Konya, the Alâeddin mosque belonged to the palatial assembly of the Seljuk Sultans of Rum. Built in several stages, it preserves in its courtyard the burials of several sovereigns of this dynasty.

Médersa İnce Minare
This 13th century school is distinguished by its carved portal and partly preserved brick minaret. It hosts a museum dedicated to stone and wood, linking its architecture with the arts of the Seljuk Anatolia.

At the foot of the Alâeddin hill, this old medrasa became a museum of architectural ceramics. The building and the exhibits allow to study the colours and techniques that characterize a part of Seljuk art.
