Nature and landscape
Seneca Rocks
Seneca Rocks offers a steep, highly identitarian wall of Western Virginia, with a silhouette that is immediately visible in the regional relief. The site is also a vertical test for climbers, but above all a strong visual landmark from the surrounding trails. Its profile immediately gives the measurement of the reliefs of the Allegheny.
Nature and landscape
Dolly Sods Wilderness
Dolly Sods Wilderness exhibits expanses of plateau and undergrowth in a more austere atmosphere than the tourist part of the county. The landscape is more wild, almost austere, with open areas that accentuate the wind and light. The site values a nature of transition between dense forest and elevation ridges.
Nature and landscape
Blackwater Falls State Park
Blackwater Falls identifies the clear passage of a clear fall in the canyon, framed by gorge forests. The trails offer views that go from the privacy of the valley to the wide perspectives of the park. The image of the moving water is the driving element of the visit.
