Nouadhibou occupies the eastern facade of an Atlantic peninsula shared with Western Sahara. The port city and the Cape Blanc satellite reserve show two very different uses of the coastline. The discovery perimeter must remain on the Mauritanian side and respect the protection zones of the monk seal, without guaranteeing the observation of animals.
Nouadhibou, Cap Blanc, Mauritanian sector and Cap Blanc Satellite Reserve give the most telling landmarks of Nouadhibou and Cap Blanc. Together, they form a destination where urban life, the coastline and natural spaces meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than a single uniform decor.

The Cape Blanc satellite reserve is attached to the Banc d'Arguin National Park and includes land and sea areas. Its official name corrects the original title of national park; it is involved in the protection of monk seals.
