Berry College, Etowah Indian Mounds and Cloudland Canyon State Park are the most telling landmarks of Rome and Northwest Georgia. Berry College has one of the largest integrated campuses in the United States, where forests, grasslands and buildings respond to large-scale demands. The towers of Ford Complex and the old mill give a spectacular dimension to walks, even when the goal is simply to understand the organisation of a living campus.

Etowah Indian Mounds preserves six terres of the Mississippian tradition and allows to read a lost Amerindian city through its geometry. The views from the largest terter and the site museum make tangible the social uses revealed by the excavations.

Cloudland Canyon literally slices the plateau into deep gorges, with steep falls and cliffs of marked strata. The panoramas from the edge are immediate, then the engagement of the steps towards Cherokee and Hemlock Falls puts the body in direct contact with the relief.
