Small area of belvederes, river, forest, industrial heritage and border villages close to France and Luxembourg.
To understand what the Saarring is, look at Saarschleife, Cloef and Völklinger Hütte. These places give us a view of a territory marked by riverscapes, forests, heritage and natural spaces and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

Usine sidérurgique de Völklingen
The Völklingen steel plant conserves blast furnaces, bridges, silos and pipes in a massive industrial complex in the Saarland. The visit gives access to the very material of steel: rusty metal, steep staircases, machinery and monumental volumes make up a technical decor that has become a cultural place.

The Saarschleife is first understood by the movement of the gaze: river curve, banks, bridges and distant perspectives. It is a stop that takes strength with a progressive approach, leaving time for the landscape to modify its notes according to light.

The Cloef is best known for its views on the Saarring, where the river draws a wide meander between the wooded slopes. The short access from the surroundings of Orscholz allows you to enjoy a very legible panorama, especially strong when the clear light highlights the water curve.

Saarburg has the concrete charm of a small valley town: tight houses, sloping alleys, high castle and waterfall that crosses the center with unexpected noise.
