To understand what Samothrace is, you have to look at Therma, the Shrine of the Great Gods and Vathres. These places give us a view of a territory marked by island landscapes, mountain reliefs, forests and the coastline and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

The Sanctuaire des Grands Dieux It occupies a wooded valley near Paleopoli, facing the Sea of Thrace. Columns, walls, terraces and museum evoke the mystery cults of ancient times, in a more wild setting than many Greek classical sites.

The vathers of Samothrace are natural basins dug by the torrents that descend from Mount Saos. They are joined by shady paths, between rocks, waterfalls and very cold water, with a mountain atmosphere while the sea remains close.
