Lake Sanabria occupies a glacial bowl lined with forests and small beaches, with mountains closing the horizon to the north. You can alternate swimming, walking along the bank and viewpoints without following a single route imposed. Outside of the most frequented hours, the water and reliefs give the site an almost alpine atmosphere.

Puebla de Sanabria is a small fortified town with stone houses dating back to a castle overlooking the Tera Valley. The climb crosses arcades, flowered balconies and plots before reaching wide views from the ramparts. It brings to the stay a heritage dimension that balances the landscapes of the lake.

Monastère de San Martín de Castañeda
The monastery of San Martín de Castañeda houses a sober Romanesque church and ancient monastic buildings on the lake's heights. Its clear stone, silence and views of the valley immediately put the building in its mountain environment. The visit naturally combines with the road to Laguna de los Peces.
