Shaoxing
Channels, bridges, calligraphy and rice wine give Shaoxing a literary identity still visible in its ancient quarters.
To understand what Shaoxing is, you have to look at the side of Pavillon des Orchidées, Lake of Shaoxing East and Tomb of Yu the Great. These places give us a view of a territory marked by urban life, heritage, riverscapes and the countryside and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

Place indismissible
Pavillon des Orchidées
Lanting commemorates the famous lettering meeting and the Preface at Wang Xizhi Orchid Pavilion. Gardens, steles and stream require some calligraphy cues to make their sense.

Eastern Shaoxing Lake
Old quarries have created vertical cliffs and narrow passages filled with water. Small boats show the relief better than the only shore promenade. Tides, wind and season significantly alter the experience.
Place indismissible
Tombeau de Yu le Grand
The sanctuary honours the legendary sovereign associated with flood control. Stairs, temples and hill make up a more physical excursion than the canals of the center. Architectural details are better discovered without haste.
