Tagong and the Kham grasslands
Monastery, meadows and snow-covered silhouettes make up a high pastoral plateau on the road between Kangding and Ganzi.
To understand what Tagong and Kham prairie is, you have to look at Tagong Monastery, Tagong Prairie and Tagong Village. These places give you a view of a territory marked by mountain reliefs, the countryside, heritage and natural spaces and allow you to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

The Sakya monastery occupies the centre of the village and remains an important place of religious practice for the neighbouring communities. The place remains culturally sensitive and discovers itself with discretion, without hindering local practices; hours, outfit and photographic rules are to be checked on the spot.
Nature and landscape
Prairie de Tagong
Open pastures surround the village and offer far-reaching views of the sacred massif of Yala. Distances, weather and access conditions must be checked before departure; water, suitable clothing and time limits remain useful, even during the most favorable season.

Village of Tagong
Houses, inns and shops surround the monastery in a small village of altitude open on the pastures of Kham. An early day visit allows you to better observe the local usages and the details of the place, while avoiding some of the groups and traffic.
