To understand what Thessaloniki is, you have to look at the White Tower, Rotonde and Ano Poli. These places give us a view of a territory marked by the big city, urban life, heritage and coastline and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

For a stay of 2 to 4 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: traffic and summer heat. The trip can be organised without a car if the drop point and local connections are selected in advance. The main sites are generally easy to access.

White tower
The Tour blanche marks the seafront of Thessalonique, laid between the promenade, the boats of the Thermaica Gulf and the continuous movement of the cafes. Inside, the route tells the city by strata, while the terrace opens a clear view of the buildings, the sea and sometimes the Olympus.

Rotonde
The Rotonde It is surprising by its massive volume, its brick walls and the mosaics that remain under the dome. Former Roman monument became church and then mosque, it concentrates in one space several lives of Thessalonique, close to the arch of Galère.

Ano Poli
Ano Poli climb over the center of Thessalonique, with stairs, low houses, ramparts and wide views towards the Gulf. The neighborhood keeps a more village atmosphere than the lower avenues, especially in the alleys around taverns and small Byzantine churches.
