Zhoushan and Putuoshan
Islands, fishing ports and Buddhist pilgrimages are scattered in an archipelago exposed to the East China Sea.
To understand what Zhoushan and Putuoshan are, you must look at Mount Putuo, Temple Puji and Temple Fayu. These places give you a view of a territory marked by island landscapes, coastline, heritage and natural spaces and allow you to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

Putuoshan is one of the sacred Buddhist mountains of China, dedicated to Guanyin. Temples, beaches and trails take at least one day on a busy island. The weather and condition of the trails remain decisive.

Puji is the main monastery of Putuoshan and concentrates intense religious activity. An early visit allows to observe rites before the great flows of visitors. Architectural details are better discovered without haste.
