概述
São Miguel
Large volcanic island of the Azores, between crater lakes, hot springs, tea plantations, cliffs and Ponta Delgada.
Sete Cidades, Furnas and Lagoa do Fogo give São Miguel's most telling landmarks. Together, they form a destination where island landscapes, mountain reliefs, shores and lakes and natural spaces meet, with atmospheres that change over the course of the stages rather than a single uniform decor.

For a stay of 5 to 9 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to be anticipated: very changing weather and exposed ocean bathing. A car is usually the easiest way to connect different sectors. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be checked step by step.

Place
Sete Cidades
Sete Cidades is read as a theatre of lagoons and volcanic borders, with panoramas that narrow and then open on the corner. The trails highlight the changing colours of water and slopes. It is a place to be approached with time to note the slide of nuances.
Place
Furnas
Furnas hears as much as he sees himself: wetlands, mineral smells and reliefs that frame the walk. Local perspectives reveal the presence of sources and lowland areas around the basin. The site works well on a soft visit, with breaks to read textures.
Place
Ponta Delgada
Ponta Delgada concentrates the activity of São Miguel around its port, city gates and streets paved in black and white. Dark basalt churches, clear facades and terraces give a solid urban entrance before leaving to the lakes, hot springs or gazebos of the island.
Place
Gorreana
The Gorreana area anchors in an atmosphere of cultivation in altitude, where planting, paths and horizon produce an experience both rural and mineral. The slope lines make the tasting of the place almost topographical. The region is better understood by observing the alliance between exploitation and landscape.
