Lieu historique national du Phare-de-Cap-Spear
At Cape Spear, the white lighthouse dominates black rocks exposed to the Atlantic winds. The site brings together guardian house, coastal batteries and huge horizon; some mornings, it is one of the most striking places to see light touching Newfoundland before the rest of the continent.

I'm not sure what I'm doing.East Coast Trail Along the Avalon Peninsula, it has cliffs, creeks, wind-beating capes and small fishing villages. Around Cape Spear, its sections give access to powerful views of the Atlantic, sometimes with whales, icebergs or fog moving forward like a curtain.

Middle Cove Beach
Middle Cove Beach is a pebble beach surrounded by low cliffs, close to St. John's but already turned towards the wilder coast. The waves roll loudly stones there, and summer evenings often take a local gathering air around fires and picnics.

Torbay Point offers an open window on the northeast coast of the Avalon peninsula, between meadows, cliffs and cold sea. The place is especially for the impression of the edge of the Atlantic: nearby trails, fast winds, scattered houses and views that change as soon as a cloud passes.
