Wörthersee
The Wörthersee concentrates the art of living lake of Carinthia: turquoise water in good weather, swimming pontoons, ancient villas and villages like Velden or Pörtschach. The shore takes all its meaning to the beautiful days, when the boats connect the beaches and the cafes remain open late.
Town or village
Klagenfurt
Klagenfurt offers an urban base located between the Renaissance squares in the centre and the banks of the Wörthersee. The Lindwurmbrunnen, the inner courtyards and the museums take half a day, before reaching quickly the beaches, boats or viewpoints around the lake.
City and mountain
Villach
Villach stretches along the Drave, with an easy to travel center and mountains already close to the horizon. Its strength comes from possible departures: Carinthia lakes, Warmbad thermal baths, Gail valley or trains to Italy and Slovenia.
