概述
麋鹿岛国家公园
Grasslands, lakes and herds of bison offer a wild parenthesis very close to Edmonton.
Astotin Lake, Bison Loop Road and Beaver Pond Trail provide the most telling landmarks of Elk Island National Park. Together, they make up a destination where the shores and lakes, forests and natural spaces meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than just one uniform decor.

For a stay of 2 to 5 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: conditions to be checked according to the season. A car is usually the easiest way to connect different sectors. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be checked step by step.

自然与风景
Astotin Lake
Astotin Lake is the accessible heart of Elk Island, with beach, wharves, islets and reflections of boreal forest. It comes to paddling, picnic or waiting in the evening, when the lake becomes one of the best places in the park to look at the sky and the silhouettes of birds.
必去之地
Bison Loop Road
Bison Loop Road Cross the meadows and woodlands where the Elk Island bison sometimes appear close to the car. The loop imposes a slow and attentive rhythm: dark bumps in the grass, dust on the way, young calves in the spring.
自然与全景
Beaver Pond Trail
Beaver Pond Trail Follows a landscape shaped by beavers, between pools, dikes, aspen and openings on the water. The trail gives a good chance to observe fresh traces, water birds and subtle changes of vegetation, especially early in the morning.
必去之地
Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village
The Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village Re-establishes the lives of Ukrainian settlers in Alberta, with houses, churches, schools and workshops animated by costumed interpreters. Near Elk Island, he adds a human dimension to the stay, between vegetable gardens, ovens, icons and installation stories on the Prairies.
