Remarkable location
IJsselmeer
The IJsselmeer is a vast stretch of fresh water born from the closure of the ancient Zuiderzee, bordered by dykes, historic harbours and flat horizons. Around Enkhuizen and Hoorn, the lake tells very concretely the Dutch relationship to the water: sailboats, locks, polders and villages turned towards the ancient maritime traffics.
