湖
Lake Itasca
Lake Itasca It is known as the lake from which the Mississippi originates, but it also applies to its wooded shores, its calm waters and the ancient atmosphere of the park that surrounds it. The visit takes on a particular dimension when you see the river being born in the form of a thin current traverssable on foot.
必去之地
Mississippi Headwaters
To Mississippi Headwaters, the most famous American river starts modestly between a few stones, at the exit of the lake Itasca. The contrast between this water net and the image of Mississippi in Memphis or New Orleans makes the place very talkable, even for a short stop.
自然与风景
Itasca State Park
Itasca State Park Protects Mississippi springs in a landscape of lakes, red pines, marshes and forest roads. Beyond the symbolic Headwaters, the park invites you to stay for walking, paddling or rolling under the large trees of northern Minnesota.
必去之地
Douglas Lodge
Douglas Lodge brings a historical note to the stay at Itasca, with its rustic wooden and stone architecture in the heart of the park. Passing or eating there allows you to regain the atmosphere of the old Minnesota state parks, when the journey extended slowly to the lakeside.
