Agora de Smyrna, Kadifekale and Tour de l'Horloge d İIzmir give the most telling landmarks of İzmir. Together, they form a destination where the big city, heritage and coastline meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than a single uniform decor.

For a stay of 2 to 4 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: Kadifekale is high; the beaches of Çeşme belong to another area. The trip can be organised without a car if the drop point and local connections are selected in advance. The main sites are generally easy to access.

L ágora d ázmir retains an ancient public space rebuilt in Roman times after an earthquake. It is integrated into the present city, allowing to approach the history of Smyrna near the merchant district of Kemeraltı.

The castle of Kadifekale occupies the height of Mount Pagos above the Čzmir. Its location offers a reading of the city and the Gulf, while recalling the defensive role of this hill since ancient times.
