Bumpass Hell Concentrates the most striking geothermal manifestations of Lassen: boiling pools, fumoil, yellow deposits and sulfur smell. The bridges pass through a fragile ground where the heat comes out everywhere, giving a very concrete experience of volcanoism without having to climb a summit.

Manzanita Lake reflects Lassen Peak in coniferous water, with an easy loop that passes between banks, reeds and open views. The quiet morning often gives the best mirrors, while families and photographers find there a soft access to the park before the more volcanic areas.

Cinder Cone It climbs on a slope of black ashes that slides under the steps, to the edge of a net crater. From the top, the Fantastic Lava Beds, Painted Dunes and Lassen Peak make up an almost lunar landscape, particularly striking when the shaded light brings out the colors of the slags.
