Lugo, Ancares and Courel
Inner Galicia between Roman ramparts, mountains, shale villages, forests and much less touristic valleys.
To understand what Lugo, Ancares and Courel is, you must look at the Roman Remparts of Lugo, Lugo Cathedral and Os Ancares. These places give us the opportunity to see a territory marked by urban life, mountain reliefs, forests and heritage and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

Lugo's cathedral blends Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque styles, visible in its chapels, choir and worked facade. Inside, the clear stone and successive volumes contrast with the streets close to the Roman wall; the visit takes on relief when the building is connected to the old surrounding centre.

Os Ancares
Os Ancares opens up by narrow villages and roads that constantly climb, with a new reading of the relief at each level. The roads have a solid rural logic and show the areas of life more than fixed postcards. In the morning, clear shadows facilitate the passage from one hamlet to another.

O Cebreiro, with its stone houses and compact passages, gives a sense of authenticity built by local matter. Walking around the squares, then slightly climbing towards the edges offers a good understanding of its structure and its landscape anchor. The changing lights on the roofs highlight the details.

Samos strikes by the contrast between near valley and monastic silhouettes, especially when the sky lengthens the flight lines.
