To understand what Nauplie and Argolide are, look at Nauplie, Palamede and Bourtzi. These places give us the opportunity to see a territory marked by urban life, the coastline and the heritage and to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

For a stay of 2 to 4 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to be anticipated: stairs in Palamede and very requested on weekends. The trip can be organised without a car if the drop point and local connections are selected in advance. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be checked step by step.

Tirynthe Impressive by its cyclopean walls, massive blocks and galleries that give a very physical idea of mycenean power. Nauplie and d-Argos, the site is visited faster than Mycenes, but its thick walls and position in the plain remain highly memorable.

Nauplie The city is located in the heart of the city, with its Venetian alleyways, squares, flowered balconies and port at the foot of the fortresses of Palamède and Acronauplie. The city works very well as a base in Argolide, with nearby beaches, lively evenings and large ancient sights accessible by short excursions.

The fortress of Palamède dominates Nauplie from a high ridge, with bastions, steep stairs and wide views of the Argolic Gulf. The climb effort is rewarded with a clear reading of the city: port, old town, Bourtzi and mountains are placed with one look.

Bourtzi
Bourtzi is the small fortress laid in the bay of Nauplie, visible from the entire promenade of the port. Its silhouette on the water gives a lot to the decor of the city, especially at sunset, when the Gulf becomes calm and Palamede cuts behind the roofs.
