River town
Novo mesto
Novo mesto settles in a loop of the Krka, with an ancient center that looks at the river from its streets on a gentle slope. There is a Slovenia less in a hurry than in the tourist capitals, made up of quiet docks, bridges, tight houses and nearby wine hills.
Castle and river
Château d'Otočec
The castle of Otočec occupies a small island of the Krka, in a very recognizable landscape. Even without staying on site, the detour is valid for the promenade, the views of the water and the romantic atmosphere of the site.
Town or village
Kostanjevica na Krki
Kostanjevica na Krki is placed on a low river island, with quiet houses, bridges and access to an old monastery transformed into a cultural space. The visit brings a slow, almost island breathing, in the south-eastern Slovenian.
