Museum
Musée maritime fluvial et portuaire de Rouen
The Musée maritime fluvial et porte de Rouen recounts the Seine as an axis of commerce, navigation and industry, with models, ship's objects and memory of the docks. It illuminates a walk in the current port: cranes, warehouses, barges and ships make more sense after the museum halls.
Cathedral
Cathédrale de Rouen
The Rouen Cathedral changes its face according to the angle: chiseled facade, lantern tower, side gate and stained glass windows each give a different entrance into the monument. Inside, the chapels and the nave keep a soft light, very different from the animation of the surrounding medieval streets.
Museum
Gros-Horloge
The Gros Horloge marks one of Rouen's most lively streets with its Renaissance arch, golden dial and belfry. The pleasure comes from the details of the clock as well as from the passage under the vault, between wooden houses, windows and perspective towards the cathedral.
Place
Vieux-Marché
The Old Market is not a mere passage scene: it keeps daily usages, historical materials and pedestrian paths that tell the ancient center. Walking at the pace of the market and arcades is enough to understand its structure. A passage in the morning limits the effect of overhanging tourists.
