Culture and heritage
Tashkurgan Fortress
The stone fortress dominates a wide valley covered by Tajik herders. The ramparts give a clear reading of the historic crossroads despite recent developments. A slow visit allows to go beyond the only points of view best known.

Lake Karakul
Karakul reflects the peaks of the Muztagh Ata and Kongur on the roadside of Karakoram. Altitude, wind and roadside controls require a significant margin in the program. Light, wind and season are strongly transforming the landscape.

This vast glacial summit dominates the Pamiri pastures more than seven thousand meters away. The observation from the road is accessible, but any activity in the mountains requires permission and expertise. A slow visit allows you to go beyond the only points of view best known.
