For a stay of 2 to 5 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: variable influx depending on the season and check the schedules of the sites. The trip can be organised without a car if the drop point and local connections are selected in advance. The main sites are generally easy to access.

Major site

Old Salem

4.7 / 5· Hidengo3-5 a.m.

Old Salem revives the Moravian district of Winston-Salem with restored houses, workshops, gardens and brick streets. Demonstrations of cooking, pottery or carpentry give material to a story often told too far away. The place works especially well when you take time to enter several buildings.

Culture and heritage

International Civil Rights Center and Museum

I'm not sure what I'm doing.International Civil Rights Center and Museum based on the original Woolworth counter where the sit-ins marked the civil rights movement. The journey plunges into the legal and social context of segregation, while keeping the strength of a concrete decision-making place.

Culture and heritage

Reynolda House Museum of American Art

4.5 / 5· Hidengo2-3 hours

Reynolda House assembles family home, garden and art collection in a single box, which gives a more intimate reading of the works. The living rooms make the collection less distant: art circulates in a living environment thought as an active heritage.

Culture and heritage

Greensboro Science Center

4.5 / 5· Hidengo3-5 a.m.

The Greensboro Science Center combines aquarium, zoo and interactive sciences on the same site, with a natural transition between animal discovery and educational manipulation. This combination is well suited for multi-generational audiences and breaks the usual break between nature, museum and fun experience.
