Wolong and Mount Balang
Panda reserve, forest valleys and high alpine pass form a spectacular transition between Sichuan basin and Tibetan plateau.
Wolong Nature Reserve, Shenshuping Panda Centre and Balang Mountain Pandas give the most telling landmarks of Wolong and Balang Mountain. Together, they form a destination where mountain reliefs, forests and natural spaces meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than a single uniform decor.

For a stay of 2 to 5 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to be anticipated: temporary restrictions may affect Ganzi districts and Tibetan areas of Sichuan and confirm access to authorities or local agency prior to any reservation. Sanctuaires du grand panda du Sichuan - Wolong, Mont Siguniang et Montagnes de Jiajin
Sichuan shrines protect forest valleys, bamboo groves and mountains where a major part of the wild giant pandas live. Around Wolong, Siguniang and Jiajin, the landscape mixes rare fauna, very rich flora and steep reliefs; observation requires patience, supervision and strict respect for protected areas.

The reserve protects a vast mountain habitat from giant panda and many other species on the eastern slope of Qionglai. Distances, weather and access conditions must be checked before departure; water, suitable clothing and time limits are still useful, even during the most favorable season.
Culture and heritage
Shenshuping Panda Centre
The Conservation and Livestock Centre is located in the Gengda Valley, rebuilt after the 2008 earthquake. An early-day visit allows you to better observe local usages and the details of the place, while avoiding some of the groups and traffic.

Mount Balang
The road passes through high pastures and a nearby pass of 4,500 meters in front of the tops of the Siguniang massif. Distances, weather and access conditions must be checked before departure; water, suitable clothing and hourly margin remain useful, even during the most favorable season.
