General presentation
Bucarest
Large and contrasting capital, between Belle Époque architecture, large boulevards, museums, parks and nightlife.
To understand what Bucharest is, you have to look at the Palace of Parliament, Old Town Lipscani and Museum of the Village. These places give us a view of a territory marked by the big city, urban life and heritage and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.
See all
For a stay of 2 to 4 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to be anticipated: urban distances and dense traffic. The trip can be organised without a car if the drop point and local connections are selected in advance. The main sites are generally easy to access.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Palace
Palais du Parlement
The Palais du Parlement crush the center of Bucarest Its volume, monumental perspectives and marble interiors. Its visit confronts the authoritarian ambition of the Ceaușescu regime, while revealing rooms where the official decor becomes almost unreal.

Town or village
Vieille ville Lipscani
Lipscani concentrates cobblestone streets, covered passages, old inns, discreet churches and busy cafes. The neighborhood changes sharply between the morning, more legible to look at the facades, and in the evening, when bars and terraces take almost the whole place.

Museum
Musée du Village
The Musée du Village houses, churches, mills and farms from several Romanian regions, located on the edge of Herăstrău Park. The walk gives a concrete view of rural architectures, with carved wood, thatched roofs and domestic courtyards rather than abstract windows.
