Culture and heritage
World Museum of Mining
In Butte, World Museum of Mining immerse yourself in the world of copper, horse riding, galleries and mining districts. The site reconstructs a mining street and shows the tools, machines and working conditions that have shaped the city, far from a simple window museum.

Place indismissible
Berkeley Pit
Berkeley Pit is an old open-pit copper mine which has become an acidic lake with unreal colors, visible from an observation platform. The site hits by its mix of industrial landscape and environmental warning: Butte, the mineral wealth reads here in an immense scar.

Place indismissible
Copper King Mansion
Copper King Mansion shows the other side of the Butte Mining: that of the fortunes of copper and Victorian interiors loaded with carved wood, stained glass and painted ceilings. Former home of W. A. Clark, it gives shape to the period when the city attracted capital, rivalries and disproportionate ambitions.

Place indismissible
Anaconda Smelter Stack
The chimney of Anaconda stands alone above the valley, a massive vestige of the former copper foundry. It is not approached as a decorative monument: its brick silhouette, visible from afar, recalls the industrial scale of the region and the lasting traces left by the metallurgy.
