General presentation
Chaozhou
Temples, tea houses and crafts give the ancient Han city a particularly strong cultural identity.
To understand what Chaozhou is, you must look at the Guangji Bridge, Kaiyuan Temple of Chaozhou and Chaozhou Wall. These places give us a view of a territory marked by urban life, heritage and riverscapes and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

For a stay of 2 to 5 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: variable influx depending on the season. A car is usually the easiest way to connect different sectors. The main sites are generally easy to access.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Bridge
Pont Guangji
The bridge combines stone arches, pavilions and floating section demountable on the Han River. Its daily opening to the boats and its night lighting show very different uses. The beginning of the day usually offers more calm.

Temple
Temple Kaiyuan de Chaozhou
Kaiyuan is a large ancient Buddhist temple in the heart of the historic city. Charpentes, courtyards and religious activity deserve more than a passage between two shopping streets. Architectural details are better discovered without haste.

Place indismissible
Muraille de Chaozhou
A section of walls and several doors follow the Han River east of the old town. The promenade connects the bridge, docks and historic districts with little elevation.
