General presentation
Chefchaouen et Talassemtane
Chefchaouen combines blue alleys, ancient kasbah and reliefs of the Rif. Talassemtane Park expands the discovery to include forest and limestone landscapes, while Akchour brings its streams and rock formations. City walks and hikes require different preparations; mountain routes depend on local conditions.
The discovery of Chefchaouen and Talassemtane is structured around Medina and Kasbah de Chefchaouen, Talassemtane National Park and Akchour and its gorges. The stay thus alternates between urban life, mountain reliefs, forests and natural spaces, giving a concrete picture of the destination beyond its only best known site.
See all
For a stay of 3 to 5 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to anticipate: in the Rif, consult the precautions of France Diplomacy regarding secondary roads; check the trails with local actors. A car is usually the easiest way to connect the different sectors. However, some sites require more walking, elevation or preparation.

Places worth visiting

Heritage
Médina et kasbah de Chefchaouen
Founded in 1471 around a fortress, Chefchaouen is installed in a mountainous relief of the Rif. Its blue-tone buildings are famous, but the kasbah also reminds us of the defensive function of the first establishment.

Nature
Parc national de Talassemtane
The Talassemtane Park protects an area of the Rif and belongs to the Mediterranean Intercontinental Biosphere Reserve. Its discovery extends Chefchaouen towards mountain and forest landscapes, with routes of very different scope.

Nature
Akchour et ses gorges
Akchour is a village in the hinterland of Chefchaouen, known for its gorge and waterfall landscapes. The area of God's bridge and that of falls correspond to routes to be distinguished before departure.
