General presentation
Hiiumaa
A quiet, wooded island punctuated with lighthouses, peninsulas, villages and long, almost empty roads.
The discovery of Hiiumaa is based around Phare in Kõpu, Phare in Tahkuna and Kassari. The stay thus alternates between island landscapes, the coastline, forests and natural areas, giving a concrete picture of the destination beyond its only most famous site.
See all
For a stay of 3 to 6 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: conditions to be checked according to the season. A car is usually the easiest way to connect different sectors. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be checked step by step.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Lighthouse
Phare de Kõpu
The Kõpu lighthouse rises above the pines like a mass of stone, laid on one of the highest points of the Hiiumaa. From the tower, the look passes from compact forests to sea holes; at the foot of the building, the thickness of the walls recalls its ancient role for Baltic ships.

Lighthouse
Phare de Tahkuna
At the northern tip of Hiiumaa The Tahkuna Lighthouse stands up its metal frame near a pebbly shore swept by the wind. The visit combines marine horizon, low forest and maritime memory, with the nearby memorial that gives the landscape a discreet gravity.

Place indismissible
Kassari
Kassari offers a very soft version of Hiiumaa, made of open meadows, junipers and quiet roads between sea and isolated farms. Sääretirp's land tongue extends the walk towards the water, in a landscape where birds, tall grasses and changes of sky occupy the whole scene.
