General presentation
Kaesong
Former capital of Kory, rich in remains and graves, located near a border among the most militarized in the world.
Korys Museum, King Kongmin Tomb and Manwoldae Palace give the most telling landmarks of Kaesong. Together, they form a destination where urban life, heritage and the countryside meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than a single uniform decor.
See all
For a stay of 1 to 3 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: variable influx depending on the season. A car is usually the easiest way to connect the different sectors. The main sites are generally easy to access.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Museum
Musée Koryŏ
The Korys Museum occupies the buildings of a former Confucian academy in the center of the Kaesong. Courses, pavilions and collections present the history of the kingdom which united a large part of the peninsula, according to a museum and access controlled by the authorities.

Place indismissible
Tombe du roi Kongmin
King Kongmin's tomb brings together two tumulus of stone for the sovereign of Korys and his Mongolian wife. Statues, terraces and surrounding reliefs form a remarkable ensemble, usually reached in the mandatory framework of a tour organized since Kaesong.

Palace
Palais Manwoldae
Manwoldae retains the foundations of the main palace of the Korys Dynasty on the slopes of Mount Songak. Excavations have revealed terraces, objects and monumental organization, but the conditions of access and the presentation of the site depend entirely on the authorized program.
