General presentation
Séoul
The capital is located between palaces, hanok districts, markets, urban mountains and contemporary architecture on the banks of the Han River.
Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village and N Seoul Tower give the most telling landmarks of Seoul. Together, they form a destination where the big city, urban life, heritage and riverscapes meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than just one uniform decor.
See all
For a stay of 4 to 8 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: variable influx depending on the season. The trip can be organised without a car if the drop point and local connections are selected in advance. The main sites are generally easy to access.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

World Heritage
Namhansanseong
Namhansanseong envelops a mountain southeast of Séoul With ramparts, doors, pavilions and shrines built to serve as a royal refuge. Round paths offer views of the valleys and capital, while recalling the military tensions of the Korean Joseon against the invasions.

Palace
Palais Gyeongbokgung
Gyeongbokgung runs, pavilions and doors at the foot of Bugaksan Mountain, in the historical axis of the Séoul. The changes in guard provide a first landmark, but the gardens and side buildings better reveal the scale of the old royal palace.

Village
Village hanok de Bukchon
Bukchon keeps on its slopes a fabric of Hansok houses between two large palaces. The alleys offer views of the roofs and the modern city, while remaining a inhabited area where silence and respect for private access are essential.

Place indismissible
N Seoul Tower
The Namsan Tower dominates the centre of Séoul From a wooded hill accessible on foot, by bus or cable car. The platforms allow to measure the extent of the metropolis and the place of the mountains that cut its neighborhoods.
