General presentation
Marrakech
Marrakech brings together a wide variety of palaces, gardens and religious buildings around its medina. Jemaa el-Fna remains a space of encounters and cultural practices, while the Saadian monuments illuminate the political history of the city. Majorelle introduced another era, linked to artistic creation and Amazigh collections.
Jemaa el-Fna Square, Bahia Palace and El Badi Palace give the most telling landmarks of Marrakech. Together, they form a destination where urban life and heritage meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than just one uniform decor.
See all
For a stay of 3 to 5 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: check the openings of monuments and the arrangements for booking gardens; strong summer heat. The trip can be organised without a car if the drop point and local connections are selected in advance. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be verified step by step.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Heritage
Place Jemaa el-Fna
At the heart of the medina, Jemaa el-Fna is a market place and meeting place, known for its lively cultural practices. The interest of the place lies in its uses as much as in its form, with an animation that varies according to the moment.

Heritage
Bahia Palace
The Bahia Palace was developed in the second half of the 19th century by Si Moussa and then Ba Ahmed. Its irregular plan combines courtyards, gardens and rooms with remarkable painted ceilings, stuccos and zelliges.

Heritage
El Badi Palace
El Badi was commissioned by the Saadi Sultan Ahmed al-Mansour from 1578 onward, and was a reception palace for the Royal Power. Its precious materials were then dismantled; the ruins preserve the scale of the old project.

Heritage
Médersa Ben Youssef
Ben Youssef was commanded in 1564-1565 by the Saadian ruler Abdullah al-Ghalib. It is a former teaching place and a major testimony of the architecture of this period, associated with the mosque next to the same name.
