General presentation
Nord de la Zélande
Royal castles, art museum facing the sea, forests and beaches make up the Danish Riviera north of Copenhagen.
Kronborg Castle, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art and Frederiksborg Castle give the most telling landmarks of Northern Zealand. Together, they form a destination where the coastline, forests, heritage and natural spaces meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than a single uniform decor.
See all
For a stay of 3 to 6 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: conditions to be checked according to the season. A car is usually the easiest way to connect different sectors. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be checked step by step.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Castle
Château de Kronborg
Kronborg closes the entrance to the Øresund with its ramparts, towers and casemates facing Sweden. The fortress is associated with Hamlet, but its rooms and batteries tell above all the maritime control exercised from Helsingør.

Culture and heritage
Louisiana Museum of Modern Art
Louisiana combines modern art, low architecture and gardens open to the Øresund. The works are discovered on a route where the sea, trees and sculptures count as much as the exhibition halls.

Castle
Château de Frederiksborg
Frederiksborg stands on three islets in the middle of a lake of Hillerød. The interior decorations, chapel and baroque gardens give a spectacular view of the Danish monarchy, which is larger than that offered by the palaces of the capital.

Must-see place
Tisvildeleje
Tisvildeleje It has a long beach, dunes and the forest of Tisvilde Hegn on the north coast. We come there for a slow day between swimming, cycling and sandy trails, far from the urban rhythm of Copenhagen.
