The notebook of Oujda and Saïdia
Take the sea as a landmark.
This destination connects Oujda, capital of the Oriental, to the beaches of Saidia via Berkane and the Beni Snassen massif. It juxtaposes urban heritage, agricultural plain and medium mountain landscapes. The steps are scattered: it is better to organize the movements by sector rather than treat this whole as a unique city.

General presentation
Oujda and Saïdia
This destination connects Oujda, capital of the Oriental, to the beaches of Saidia via Berkane and the Beni Snassen massif. It juxtaposes urban heritage, agricultural plain and medium mountain landscapes. The steps are scattered: it is better to organize the movements by sector rather than treat this whole as a unique city.
To understand what Oujda and Saidia are, you must look at Oujda and its medina, Saidia and its Mediterranean and Berkan beach, between plain and mountains. These places give us a view of a territory marked by urban life, the coastline, mountain reliefs and the countryside and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.
See all
For a stay of 3 to 5 days, it is better to balance visits and travel times. Also to be anticipated: the land border with Algeria is closed; limited perimeter in Morocco, without border control. A car is usually the easiest way to connect the different sectors. Accessibility varies from site to site and deserves to be verified step by step.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Heritage
Oujda et sa médina
Oujda is the main city of the Oriental, close to the Algerian border. Its ancient centre is an urban stage before the agricultural landscapes of Berkane and the coast of Saidia, in a territory of historical traffic.
Nature
Saïdia et sa plage méditerranéenne
Saidia is a resort on the Mediterranean coast of the East, north of Berkane. Its long sandy beach and its seaside development contrast with the nearby mountains; the eastern end of the area reaches the border with Algeria.

Walk
Berkane, entre plaine et montagnes
In the Moroccan Oriental, Berkane is located on the edge of the Beni Snassen massif. The city marks the passage from the plain to the reliefs in the regional route between Oujda and Saidia.
Nature
Beni Snassen Massif
The Beni Snassen massif forms a set of low-lying mountains in the East, between the territories of Oujda-Angad, Berkane and Taourirt. It brings a discovery of complementary interior reliefs of the plains and the Mediterranean coast.
