General presentation
Pohang
Steel port, sunrise cape, public art and forest temples make up a contrasting coastal destination.
To understand what Pohang is, you have to look at Cape Homigot, Space Walk and Temple Bogyeongsa. These places give us a view of a territory marked by urban life, the coastline, heritage and forests and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.
See all
For a stay of 2 to 5 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: variable influx depending on the season. A car is usually the easiest way to connect different sectors. The main sites are generally easy to access.

Cap Homigot
Homigot advances into the East Sea and is one of the emblematic places of the first sunrise in Korea. The large hand sculpture emerging from the water dominates the square, but the lighthouse and coastal path give more depth to the visit.

Space Walk
Space Walk is a large practical sculpture drawing a steel curve over Hwanho Park. The stairs offer changing views over Pohang and the sea, while a deliberately inaccessible section accentuates the impression of roller coasters without turning the work into a ride.

Temple
Temple Bogyeongsa
Bogyeongsa is located at the foot of Naeyeonsan in a forested valley north of Pohang The temple buildings precede a path that goes up to a series of waterfalls, with routes ranging from a simple walk to a sustained hike.
