General presentation
Rouyn-Noranda et parc d'Aiguebelle
Countries of ancient lakes and rocks where a dynamic mining city opens onto the landscapes of the Abitibi.
To understand what Rouyn-Noranda and Aiguebelle Park are, you must look at the Aiguebelle National Park, Lake Osisko and Horne Fonderie. These places give us a view of a territory marked by urban life, the shores and lakes, forests and heritage and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

For a stay of 3 to 6 days, a quiet rhythm works well. Also to be anticipated: conditions to be checked according to the season. A car is usually the easiest way to connect the different sectors. The main sites are generally easy to access.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Nature park
Parc national d'Aiguebelle
In Aiguebelle, the Abitibi takes on a mineral form: faults, hidden lakes, pines hanging from the rock and a footbridge hanging over a gorge. The trails reveal a harsher nature than it looks, between glacial traces, beavers, gazebos and long autumn colours on the boreal forest.

Lake
Lac Osisko
Lake Osisko borders the centre of Rouyn-Noranda and gives the city its water horizon. Its built banks welcome walkers, cyclists and sunsets, with in the background the houses, the industrial installations and this very abitibian impression of a city laid directly against the lake.

Place indismissible
Fonderie Horne
The Horne Foundry marks Rouyn-Noranda with its chimneys, industrial volumes and direct link to the mining history of the Abitibi. It is seen mainly as a landscape landmark: an ever-active production site, visible from several points in the city, which recalls the place of copper and mines in its development.

Museum
Musée d'art de Rouyn-Noranda
The Musée d'art de Rouyn-Noranda offers an intimate counterpoint to the mining and boreal decor of the city. Its exhibitions highlight contemporary art, artists of the Abitibi-Témiscamingue and proposals that often dialogue with the northern territory, industrial memory or everyday matters.
