Before you choose
Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Fortress
Moscow Kremlin
The Kremlin brings together walls, squares and buildings from several periods in the heart of Moscow. Cathedral Square and the Armoury have separate tickets and visitor routes, so decide which area you want to see before arriving.

Cathedral
Saint Basil’s Cathedral
Its colourful domes rise above Red Square, but the cathedral is also worth seeing from within. The museum route passes through chapels and narrow passages with wall paintings and architectural details.

Art museum
Tretyakov Gallery
In its historic Lavrushinsky Lane building, the Tretyakov Gallery presents Russian art from the 12th to the early 20th century. Its rooms trace the path from early icons to later painting; this is a different venue from the New Tretyakov Gallery.

Monastery
Novodevichy Convent
Novodevichy Convent is an ensemble of walls, towers and churches near the Moskva River. It is a World Heritage Site for its architecture and history. The museum welcomes visitors, but Smolensk Cathedral does not offer tourist viewing: access follows worship services.
