General presentation
Tai'an and Mount Tai
Sacred mountain, imperial temples and long staircases form one of China's most powerful cultural landscapes.
Mount Tai, Temple Dai and South Gate of Heaven give the most telling landmarks of Tai'an and Mount Tai. Together, they form a destination where urban life, mountain reliefs, heritage and natural spaces meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than just one uniform decor.

Place indismissible
Mount Tai
Mount Tai is venerated from ancient times and carries temples, inscriptions and ritual doors to the summit. The classic itinerary includes thousands of steps; bus and cable car make it possible to reduce effort.

Temple
Dai Temple
The Dai temple was used for imperial ceremonies before the ascension of the sacred mountain. Its courtyards, cypresses and murals form an essential introduction to the symbolism of Mount Tai. Architectural details are better discovered without haste.

Place indismissible
Porte Sud du Ciel
This monumental door marks the arrival on the ridge after the steepest section of the staircase. The wind and temperature changes are fast there, even when Tai'an Stay warm.

Place indismissible
Pic de l'Empereur de Jade
The highest point of Mount Tai carries a small sanctuary and inscriptions overlooking the Shandong plain. Sunrise is known, but fog, cold and crowds can completely mask the view.
