General presentation
Takamatsu et Naoshima
Seigneurial garden, contemporary art island and coastal plateau open a varied door to the interior sea of Seto.
To understand what Takamatsu and Naoshima are, you must look at the Ritsurin Garden, Chichu Art Museum and Yashima Plateau. These places give us a view of a territory marked by urban life, island landscapes, coastline and heritage and allow us to move from emblematic sites to more intimate stages.

Places worth visiting
A selection to start dreaming and organizing the stay — not an exhaustive list of everything there is to see.

Garden
Jardin Ritsurin
Ritsurin consists of six ponds, artificial hills and pine trees worked at the foot of Mount Shiun. The route constantly changes perspective, with bridges and tea houses that explain why the visit takes much more time than just an urban garden.

Culture and heritage
Chichu Art Museum
The Chichu Museum is largely buried in Naoshima in order to preserve the landscape of the island. Tadao Andō organizes natural light, concrete and works by Monet, Turrell and De Maria in spaces whose architecture is fully part of the experience.

Place indismissible
Plateau de Yashima
Yashima is an ancient volcanic plateau that dominates Takamatsu and the inner sea. Temples, gazebos and remains related to the Genpei War are distributed on its summit, easily accessible while offering a wide reading of the islands and the port.
