Nagasaki

Glover Garden, Nagasaki Peace Park and Hashima Island give the most telling landmarks of Nagasaki. Together, they form a destination where urban life, coastline, heritage and island landscapes meet, with atmospheres that change over the stages rather than just one uniform decor.

Place indismissible
Parc de la Paix de Nagasaki
The Peace Park and the nearby museum approach atomic bombardment through monuments, testimonies and objects. The visit links the disaster with the real topography of the Urakami Valley, with a sober narrative directed towards the victims and peace.

Place indismissible
Île de Hashima
Hashima is an ancient, densely built mining island, abandoned after the closure of the coal mining operation. Permitted excursions show from limited paths ruined buildings, dikes and the striking scale of an industrial land laid at sea.
